La Massa “Carla 6” (100% Sangiovese) IGT

Carla 6, a pure 100% Sangiovese, made its debut in May 2014 after three years of practice and experiments. Carla (the name of Giampaolo’s daughter) comes from the vineyard estate number 6, a 1.5 hectare vineyard whose center is identified as the very best part of the estate for the Sangiovese grape. Even though it comes from the very heart of the Chianti Classico region, Giampaolo elects to declare it IGT.

Varietals: 100% Sangiovese

Vineyard: 1.5 ha plot in estate vineyard

Farming: Organic

Vinification: Hand sorted and gravity fed into temperature controlled fermentation vessels. Native yeasts yield spontaneous fermentation.

Aging: 500L barrels followed by 1 year in cement
