La Massa “La Massa” IGT

La Massa’s entry-level “La Massa” Super Tuscan is a blend of Sangiovese with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante. Grown in La Massa’s idyllic “Conca d’Oro” estate, the wine gives a sneak peek into the potential of this producer's high end wines.

Varietals: Roughly 60% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance of Merlot & Alicante (blend varies each vintage)

Vineyard: Estate; 315-460m elevation; soils of clay, schist, calcareous marl, and yellow & grey marl (galestro)

Farming: Organic

Vinification: Hand sorted and gravity fed into temperature controlled fermentation vessels. Native yeasts yield spontaneous fermentation.

Aging: 20% new French oak for 18 months
