London Calling!
André Mack, celebrity sommelier and winemaker of Maison Noir Wines, is headed to London. He's a finalist for Best Global Wine Communicator in Long-Form Video, an award chosen by the prestigious 67 Pall Mall Club.
The recognition is well deserved--André has carved out a unique niche as a wine communicator who makes the subject accessible to all.
André has always had a talent for making wine entertaining. Wine Industry Advisor recounts how he cleverly navigated his first wine tasting:
'When asked his opinion of the wine, he initially froze. But wit and a Frasier reference came to his rescue as he quipped, "Well, it's no Château d'Yquem," eliciting laughter from everyone present.'
Even at the renowned French Laundry, Mack maintained his distinctive style. He recalls describing a wine as "bangin" during a pre-shift meeting.
As winemaker of Maison Noir wines, André brings his signature wit and credibility to make "serious wine that doesn't take itself too seriously." The juice is legit—organically farmed, Willamette Valley sourced, quality that garnered a James Beard nomination for best winemaker in 2022.
