Azelia Barolo San Rocco, Serralunga d’Alba

San Rocco stands on a hill in front of the historic church after which it is named. During the plague of the 1600s, the church was used as a hospice where the sick would seek sanctuary and blessing of San Rocco, patron saint and protector. The vineyard’s dense, clay soils are hallmark for Serralunga, itself known as ‘il corazziere’ (cuirassier, a very skillful and powerful soldier) of the Langhe region. Reflecting the vineyard’s character, Azelia San Rocco shows great structure, depth and energy.
