Mathis Wine, Rosé de Grenache

Mathis Rosé de Grenache is a “dedicated” rosé made from the and 800 blocks of Mathis Vineyard at the base of Moon Mountain. Planted in 1999, these blocks are mixed with clone 513 and 515 and are field grafted to St. George rootstock. A lovely fresh, dry rosé made in the classic Provençal style with pale salmon coloring and low phenolic extraction.

Vineyards: Mathis Vineyard, 350’ elevation; volcanic soils (Solomon, St. Helen, Basalt, Rhyolite)

Farming: Organic

Vinification: Crushed whole cluster, direct to press (minimal skin contact time for delicate extraction); cold fermentation with native yeasts

Aging: Six months in a small stainless steel tank
