Fattori Amarone, Col de la Bastia

A selection of Fattori's hand-picked Valpolicella grapes are destined for the fruttaio, where they will dry in well-ventilated small boxes through the months of December or often January. The water loss promotes a concentration of all substances in the grapes, leading to an intensity of flavors, aromas, and a lush texture. The resulting wine is a knockout—especially given Antonio's talent for preserving fresh aromas and purity of terroir. It is loaded with sweet spices, dried plum, cassis, and notes of dried herbs and licorice.
