* Black cherry, licorice, black pepper and cinnamon with velvety tannins
* 95 points, James Suckling
• JamesSuckling.com: 95 I love the intense aromas and flavors of black fruit, licorice and smoke, but there are underlying notes of blueberries, citrus and cloves, too. This concentrated and polished red has a lot of charisma. Full body, ripe and intense tannins and a long, driving finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink in 2022.
• Robert Parker: 90 The Casaloste 2015 Inversus is 90% Merlot with a small component of Sangiovese. The estate is located in Panzano in Chianti where wines are known for their distinct freshness and clarity of aromas. This is a mid-weight expression that boasts dark and rich color saturation. The wine offers robust aromas of black fruit, spice and sweet tobacco. You do recognize the Merlot when just considering the bouquet. However, the mouthfeel reflects the wine's Sangiovese side with bright acidity and a snappy, crisp finish. Some 4,000 bottles were made.
